Students in the Marine Trades Technician occupational program at EHOVE Adult Career Center have gained yet another great piece of equipment on which they can practice their skills. Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. donated an F200FET outboard engine valued at $13,930 to the program.

There is high demand in the marine industry for trained employees in mechanics and maintenance. Yamaha has a robust partnership program with technical colleges and high schools nationwide to help foster qualified marine technicians. This includes providing current, market-relevant resources, products, certifications and curricula. Yamaha’s efforts benefit the students during their training, but also helps provide qualified workers for the marine industry.

“Yamaha Marine Service is dedicated to the mission of growing technicians,” said Marine Training Coordinator Kenyon Ward from Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. ”EHOVE Career Center is a great tech school partner and has certainly helped the marine dealer market in Ohio by certifying Yamaha Technicians. Yamaha is committed to supplying our Tech School Partner with donated product, and the F200FET should be a perfect training asset for the Great Lakes market.”

“This generous donation will allow the Marine Trades Technician students to train on fuel injection, electronic ignition, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and much more,” said EHOVE Training Coordinator Jamie Starcher.

There is high demand for trained employees in mechanics and maintenance for the marine industry.  Marine Trades Technician students at EHOVE earn critical industry certifications and learn the skills needed to operate, maintain, diagnose and repair marine electrical, plumbing, diesel and gas engines, fiberglass, PWC & Jet drives, stern drives, and trailers.
